Bruce Maxwell has been indicted by an Arizona grand jury, meaning the felony case against the A’s catcher stemming from his Oct. 28 arrest will proceed, NBC Sports Bay Area reported Wednesday.
Maxwell, who had been arrested for allegedly pulling a gun on a female food delivery worker at his home in Scottsdale, Ariz., faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct.
The grand jury indictment continues a troubling trend of off-season incidents for the 26-year-old Maxwell, who made a name for himself in September when he became the first major leaguer to participate in the national anthem protest Colin Kaepernick started.
