It is officially “Get Off My Mound” day here in Oakland as the A’s celebrate the 10th anniversary of Dallas Braden’s Mothers’ Day perfect game. Fittingly, just a few days prior, Mike Fiers tossed the second no hitter of his career against the Reds, but due to his high pitch count, his next start has been pushed back a day. Therefore, Daniel Mengden, who has been in and out of the A’s starting rotation for a couple of years now, will be making his 2019 debut after starting the year strong in Las Vegas.
Additionally, the A’s will be going for the sweep today against the Cleveland Indians, who have put up a good fight despite coming up empty these last two games.
