In one of the wildest games in an already zany season, the Oakland A’s beat the Giants 4-3 in 11 innings to even the second installment of the Bay Bridge Series.
The A’s had the game wrapped up in the 9th, with Blake Treinen delivering Strike 3 for the final out of what would have been a 3-2 victory. However, the pitch was so nasty that after earning a swing-and-miss it also bounced away from catcher Josh Phegley, allowing the runner to reach base. One pitch later he scored because something something Giants, and the game was tied.
