The Oakland A’s had lost six of their last seven games against the Colorado Rockies dating back to 2018, but they got the season series off to a better start this year.
The A’s scored early and often in a 9-5 victory at Coors Field, using a balanced attack of power, patience, and plenty of hits with runners in scoring position.
Oakland wasted no time getting on the board. Just three batters into the game, Matt Olson lofted an RBI double into the stadium’s vast left-center field.
In the 2nd, Sean Murphy homered.
