A Mark Canha walkoff home run helped the A’s salvage a game against the Mariners and end their season at the Coliseum in winning fashion. In his final start of the year, Kendall Graveman threw six innings, allowing seven hits, three runs, and striking out four. Chris Hatcher blew a hold opportunity - the A’s were leading 5-3 going into the eighth, but Canha’s bomb fixed all ills.
Matt Joyce had three hits, all of them doubles. As a team, the A’s weren’t the most patient bunch, walking just twice, but made up for the lack of selectivity with nine hits.
