Houston starter Colin McHugh pitched eight strong innings to give the Astros a pedestrian 5-1 victory over the A's, except for the fact that Barry Zito made a relief appearance!
Barry Zito threw the bottom of the eighth for the A's initially facing 20-year old Carlos Correa. Ken Korach referred to this moment as exhibiting the grand circle of life. In the end, Barry allowed a 2-run home run to Colby Rasmus, but Barry's curveball looked fantastic while hitting 86 mph on the fastball.
Also, the A's lost.
Full recap forthcoming.
