Game #148: Rays get straight KHRUSHED in extra innings

While of course there are a number of MVP’s on the A’s this season there are two that stand out. The game had been tied at one run apiece for the A’s and the Tampa Bay Rays since the fourth inning. It remained that way thanks to stellar pitching from both teams but the A’s prevailed after 10 innings by the score of 2-1 thanks to, the two players that seem — at least in my mind — to have been the most valuable for the club in 2018, closer Blake Treinen and designated hitter Khris Davis.

Matt Olson’s RBI single that plated Matt Chapman was all the offense the A’s could muster against a Rays’ pitching staff that is even more used to “bullpenning” than the A’s pitching staff.
