The 73-year-old Howe had been admitted to a Houston area intensive care unit on Tuesday. He initially felt symptoms on May 3, and a couple days later received a positive test for coronavirus. After isolating in his home for several days, his condition worsened to the point that he needed to go to the hospital, including the development of a fever.
