Manny can be Manny anywhere, even across the Pacific Ocean.
Manny Ramirez, 44, signed with the Kochi Fighting Dogs of the Shikoku Island League Plus in Japan, the team announced on its website Monday. The four-team independent league is based on Shikoku, the smallest and least populous of Japan’s four main islands.
It’s been six seasons since Ramirez, once an A’s minor leaguer and the 2004 World Series MVP with the Red Sox, last appeared in Major League Baseball and three years after his last professional game.
So basically, feel free to call it a comeback.
