Andrew Triggs doesn’t really need baseball. He has a wide range of outside interests and a year of business school under his belt.
The A’s starter worked on political campaigns during his offseasons as he bounced around the minor leagues. Finally called up to Oakland last year, Triggs dropped in on a former presidential adviser when the A’s were on the road.
“Seeing the inside of another industry was really interesting and I loved the people I worked with,” Triggs said. “But it didn’t crystalize in my mind what I want to do. If anything it really reaffirmed how much I love baseball, away from the field, too.
