The crowd cheers as Corban Joseph rounds the bases. He’s just hit a home run to extend the Las Vegas Aviators’ lead to 4-0, and when he crosses home plate the batboy is there waiting for him. Joseph gives him a pat on the head as he trots by, at which point the batboy joins him on the journey back to the dugout. Except it’s not a batboy at all. It’s Finn, the Bat Dog.
The Oakland A’s signed with a new Triple-A affiliate this season, leaving their old home in Nashville and moving to the desert. The switch came with a brand-new stadium, aptly called Las Vegas Ballpark.
