While I was in Stockton last week, I took the opportunity to talk with A's special assistant Grady Fuson about some of the team's top prospects. Fuson was in town checking in on things with the Ports, and it's always fun to get the chance to talk to a guy like Grady who's been around the game for so long and who also has a track record with the A's organization dating all the way back to the Billy Martin era. This time, we talked about hot young hitting prospects Matt Chapman, Franklin Barreto, Matt Olson, Renato Nunez, Chad Pinder and Joey Wendle, top pitching prospects Dillon Overton and Raul Alcantara, as well as recent draft picks Richie Martin and Dakota Chalmers, and we even touched on a fairly experienced minor leaguer whom Grady drafted and signed way back in 1999 when he was the A's scouting director - lefty Barry Zito.
