Ex-A’s outfielder Ryan Christenson a hot managerial prospect

Former A’s outfielder Ryan Christenson solidified his status as a potential future big-league manager when he was promoted to manager at Triple-A Nashville.

Christenson, 42, won titles with Double-A Midland in each of the past two seasons and never has failed to make the postseason in four seasons as a minor-league manager, putting up a record of 323-236.

“Ryan’s quick ascension through the organization is well-deserved,” A’s general manager David Forst said. “He’s had success everywhere he’s been - including back to back Texas League championships in Midland the last two seasons - and his promotion to Nashville is yet another step in what promises to be a bright future as a manager.
