Ex-A’s outfielder pleads no contest to domestic battery, avoids jail

Former A’s outfielder Milton Bradley, charged with misdemeanor spousal battery, has agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors that will keep him out of jail, TMZ Sports reported.

Bradley, 40, pleaded no contest to domestic battery. He was sentenced to 36 months of probation and 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling. In addition, he will be charged with fines and fees. Had he been proven guilty he could have faced one year in jail.

As a condition of his probation, Bradley will be prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Bradley’s charges stemmed from an incident at his Los Angeles residence in January.
