SURPRISE, Ariz. - The most fun story in the World Baseball Classic so far is the A’s-tinged Team Israel, undefeated after the first round and heading on to the second round, becoming something of a sensation along the way.
Former Oakland outfielder Sam Fuld said in a text to The Chronicle that he became aware of how much interest there is in Team Israel when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu weighed in on Twitter about the team’s “amazing journey.”
“We're definitely aware of the significance of our success, but it’s probably difficult to fully grasp it without being in the U.
