The Oakland Athletics snapped a three-game losing streak Monday with a 2-0 win over the New York Yankees. JP Sears turned in another great start and Zack Gelof’s two-run home run in the ninth was the difference. Mason Miller slammed the door in the ninth to pick up his fifth save of the season in electric fashion striking out Anthony Volpe, Juan Soto and Aaron Judge.
The often injured Miller was moved into a relief role by the A’s for the 2024 season in hopes that he could build innings and remain healthy. He may already be the best closer in the game and is producing some eye-popping numbers.
