According to our sources, the young child was awake, responsive and taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons. The child is expected to be ok. Thank goodness.

Cubs outfielder Albert Almora, who hit the foul ball that injured the child, was understandably emotional after the game. He said his eyes focused on her right as he hit the ball. Almora said he hopes to form a relationship with the girl and her family “for the rest of my life.”
