Greetings, Athletics Nation.
Today is the first Friday on which we have no more games at the Coli to look forward to. It doesn’t feel real to me yet, but the last Oakland Athletics game at the Oakland Coliseum was played yesterday. The last two games saw a dearth of timely hits, but the A’s held on yesterday to take their final game and series in Oakland. Remarkably, nary a home run was hit by an Athletic through the last eight games at the Coliseum.
While my feelings about this moment in history are generally overwhelmingly negative, I’d prefer to focus on some positives for the moment and savor some fond memories of the A’s through the years.
