From Chronicle Staff Writer Susan Slusser at the Coliseum
Drew Pomeranz had walked five men in his previous outing, and free passes were starting to really sink the A’s pitching staff as a whole – particularly the bullpen – during a league-high six-game losing streak.
On Tuesday at the Coliseum, Pomeranz didn’t walk a batter in the A’s 9-2 victory over Boston and, for the first time since working seven scoreless innings in his season debut, Pomeranz went more than 5 1/3 innings.
