MESA, Ariz. - Oakland’s fifth-outfielder battle proceeded apace Thursday, with Alejandro De Aza and Chris Parmelee collecting two hits apiece.
Parmelee has been getting more playing time this week because of Jaff Decker’s oblique strain. Decker was in a dead heat with De Aza for the final roster spot, but Parmelee is opening up some eyes by going 9 for his past 14 and batting .357 overall.
