OAKLAND -- An injured Khris Davis was predictably missing from the A's lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners, but he remained on the roster and could potentially avoid a stint on the disabled list.
Davis was idling in an MRI machine ahead of the series opener after sustaining a right groin strain on Sunday in Toronto.
"We'll just see where he's at," manager Bob Melvin said. "He's on the roster today. We'll see what the results are. If we have to carry him for a little bit, that would probably be a good option, based on the fact he could maybe come back sooner than later, but I'm not sure what the results of that are going to be.
