What Khris Davis knew about the A’s knew before the Brewers traded him to Oakland on Feb. 12 was rudimentary.
“I knew about Eck (Dennis Eckersley), the Bash Brothers (Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire) and Rickey Henderson,’’ Davis said Wednesday afternoon as he settled in at the A’s spring training complex ahead of Friday’s first full-squad workout. “It’s that old school grimy baseball.’’
Ten days have changed that. Davis, whose monster second half (21 homers, 48 RBI and a slash line of .249/.317/.545) made him a much-desired asset with Milwaukee looking to deal, is now the Oakland left fielder.
