ST. PETERSBURG -- Khris Davis led off the top of the 10th inning with a towering home run to give Oakland a 2-1 win over Tampa Bay on Friday.
The blast, which landed just out of reach of a leaping Kevin Kiermaier, was Davis' Major League-leading 42nd home run of the season. It also gave the A's their 12th extra-inning win of the season, tied for second-most in the Majors.
Before Davis' heroics against Jaime Schultz, Oakland had little success against a menagerie of Rays relievers.
