OAKLAND -- A's designated hitter Khris Davis hit his Major League-leading 41st home run in the first inning of Saturday's contest against the Texas Rangers.
Mired in a 7-for-54 funk going into the day, Davis belted a 3-2 pitch from Rangers starter Yohander Mendez over the wall in left. It's the 20th home run in 46 games for the A's slugger since the All-Star break.
The home run also continued Davis' tear against Texas this season. He's hit 10 home runs and driven in 26 runs in the 18 games between the two teams, the most by an Oakland player against the Rangers in one season.
