NEW YORK -- Khris Davis reintroduced himself to Sonny Gray the only way he knows how.
The A's slugger homered off of his former teammate to open the scoring in the second inning at Yankee Stadium on Friday night.
Matt Chapman's two-run homer in the same inning staked the A's to a 3-0 advantage against Gray, traded by Oakland last summer for a trio of prospects, including Dustin Fowler, who started in center field Friday.
Chapman's 2-run homer Davis' solo shot gave him 10 on the season -- and 95 since 2016, tied with the Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton for most in the Majors in that span.
