Davis' 3 RBIs lead big day for A's bats

MESA, Ariz. -- Khris Davis' bases-clearing double highlighted a six-run second inning that carried the A's to a commanding 9-4 split-squad victory over the Rockies in their home opener at Hohokam Stadium on Friday.

Davis, acquired by the A's from the Brewers for a pair of prospects last month, finished 1-for-2 from the fifth spot in the lineup in his first exhibition game in green and gold. Second baseman Jed Lowrie, reunited with the A's this winter in a trade with the Astros, singled in his first game back with the club.

Oakland's top pitching prospect, Sean Manaea, also turned in a strong performance in his first spring outing, striking out four batters in two innings.
