ARLINGTON, Texas — It’s not the way Daniel Gossett was hoping to end his rookie season with the A’s.
Gossett turned in the shortest outing of his big league career, lasting just 1 2/3 innings in Saturday’s 8-4 loss to the Texas Rangers.
After a quick first inning, Gossett ran into trouble in the second when Joey Gallo launched a two-run bomb to center, Gallo’s first of two home runs on the night. Gossett would retire the next two batter after the home run, but as has been an issue with him throughout the year, two-out hitting by the Rangers burned him.
