The elbow epidemic continues. Another A’s pitcher will undergo Tommy John surgery.
Daniel Gossett, a second-round pick in 2014 who made 23 starts for the A’s the past two seasons, is the latest in the organization who’ll have his ulnar collateral ligament repaired.
Gossett consulted with Dr. Keith Meister in Texas, and Meister recommended the surgery, which is scheduled for Wednesday.
“Obviously, it’s unfortunate,” manager Bob Melvin said.
