MIAMI -Daniel Gossett’s big-league debut was better at the plate than it was on the mound.
The right-hander - who hadn’t swung a bat since high school - put down a nice bunt in the second inning and he singled in the fourth. He also gave up seven runs, however, six of them earned in the A’s 11-6 loss at Miami on Wednesday. The Marlins scored in every inning they batted but the first and eighth.
Oakland won only one of six games on the road trip and the team is a season-high 11 games below .
