ARLINGTON -- The A's hope to have Coco Crisp back in the outfield by the time they return home.
The veteran outfielder, who underwent right elbow surgery four weeks ago, could be activated during the club's 10-game road trip, A's manager Bob Melvin said Friday, prior to the opener of a three-game set with the Rangers.
"I would hope that would be the case," Melvin said.
Crisp joined Class A Advanced Stockton on Friday for batting practice, and he's expected to play with the Ports on Sunday and Monday. He'll rest Tuesday, and the A's will then decide whether he's ready to join the active roster.
