The world is about to take another step toward normalcy for East Bay baseball fans.
The Oakland A’s will open the Coliseum to full capacity beginning June 29 against the Texas Rangers, and remain that way for the rest of the season, the team announced Thursday.
The coronavirus pandemic severely limited the ability for fans to attend MLB games, and the Coliseum doors were closed to the public for all of 2020 while the A’s played in front of cardboard cutouts and teddy bears. This year the stadium opened up to a limited number of people, and on June 15 the state of California is planning to reopen and lift pretty much all public health restrictions.
