OAKLAND – Tyler Clippard took advantage of Thursday’s day off and crossed an item off his Bucket List.
The A’s reliever got the opportunity to play Pebble Beach Golf Links and shot an even-par round of 72 at the legendary course along the Monterey Peninsula. Clippard’s cousin is a member at the Olympic Club in San Francisco and was able to snag a tee time.
Clippard, a competitive youth golfer who thought he might have a future in the sport while growing up in Florida, notched five birdies on a windy afternoon, including one on the par-5 18th, one of the most famous finishing holes in golf.
