OAKLAND -- Much like the Mariners did in opposition the night before, the A's jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning of Friday's showdown between a pair of American League Wild Card contenders at the Coliseum.
Homers from Matt Chapman and Stephen Piscotty highlighted the eventful inning against right-hander Mike Leake, while Matt Olson and Marcus Semien provided run-scoring doubles -- Olson's just barely out of the reach of center fielder Cameron Maybin to elongate the inning.
Olson's RBI double Chapman's one-out solo shot -- his 22nd of the season -- got things going, and Khris Davis drew a walk with two outs to set up Olson's two-bagger.
