Chapman (14), Davis (30) homer in third inning

OAKLAND -- The A's made loud contact during the third inning against the Tigers at the Coliseum on Saturday, as Matt Chapman and Khris Davis each hit solo homers to put Oakland ahead 2-1.

Chapman's blast came on a 91 mph fastball by Tigers starter Jordan Zimmermann, and he hit it out to center field on a line. It was his 14th home run of the season, evening the score.

Chapman entered the game on a tear, batting .329 (24-for-73) with 19 runs, six doubles, two triples and three home runs, with seven multi-hit games dating back to July 11.
