OAKLAND — Chad Pinder joined some impressive company Saturday with a monstrous home run that had the Coliseum buzzing.

The A’s designated hitter unloaded on a pitch in the fifth inning against the Boston Red Sox that reached the second deck of the outfield seating in left-center field, with Statcast estimating the blast at 460 feet.

While the A’s don’t keep official records on such things, the team announced that it is believed to be just the third home run to reach the plaza reserve seating in the outfield section that was built in 1995 to accommodate the return of the Raiders (who, incidentally, are now in the midst of another relocation).
