The eighth Friday might have been the biggest single inning of Mark Canha’s professional career to date.
The Rule 5 slugger opened it with the A’s down 5-0, hitting his third homer to get Oakland on the scoreboard.
He brought a seven-run uprising to an end with a single to center that gave the A’s some insurance.
“Especially with this team, this is the biggest inning yet,’’ Canha said.
But the inning wasn’t over quite then. Canha stole second base. At least he thought he had until umpire Andy Fletcher ruled that he came off the base and that Elvis Andrus had held the tag.
