HOUSTON -- Finally free of the tightness in his right hamstring, Billy Burns was available off the bench for Friday's series opener against the Astros, and manager Bob Melvin said Burns is likely to be in Saturday's lineup.
Burns, who hasn't played in the first seven games of the current 10-game road trip, went through his full complement of pregame work on Friday, and Melvin said he wouldn't hesitate to use him off the bench.
Meanwhile, catcher Stephen Vogt, who sustained a groin injury behind the plate on Sept. 5, went through a full pregame workout for the first time since his injury, and Melvin said there's a chance he would be available to pinch-hit on Friday.
