TORONTO -- The Athletics' bullpen handled the heavy lifting again on Friday, pitching the final eight innings of their 3-1 win over the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
Starter Brett Anderson exited the game with a left shoulder strain after warming up before the second inning, and Josh Lucas took over for the next 3 2/3 innings, looking nearly unhittable until his final frame.
Lucas, who was recalled earlier in the day, struck out seven batters and allowed one run on just two hits, both of which were weakly hit balls.
