Brett Anderson shines as A’s top Giants in Bay Bridge Series opener

OAKLAND — The A’s hit three home runs and left-handed pitcher Brett Anderson had his longest — and best — outing of the spring Sunday in a 5-0 preseason win over the Giants at the Coliseum in the first game of the Bay Bridge Series.

Stephen Piscotty, Jurickson Profar and Ramón Laureano all hit home runs for the A’s (12-8), who now have 22 homers in 20 spring training games. The series with the Giants (13-14-4) continues Monday and Tuesday with games at Oracle Park, and the A’s play their home opener Thursday against the Los Angeles Angels.
