HOUSTON - Two days after placing top starter Sean Manaea on the disabled list with a left shoulder injury, the A’s added Brett Anderson to their lengthy list of rotation casualties.
Anderson, who gave up five runs in 2 1/3 innings against the Astros on Monday, landed on the DL with a left forearm strain Tuesday. The A’s announced the injury in a press release and there is no word yet on the severity of the strain.
The A’s have lost 13 starters to injury over the course of the year, including Anderson and Paul Blackburn twice and Jharel Cotton and top pitching prospect A.
