ARLINGTON, Texas — A’s closer Blake Treinen feared for the worst in the eighth inning of Tuesday night’s 3-2 win over the Rangers.
Treinen took a liner off the bat off Shin-Soo Choo and froze on the mound, not even able to make an attempt to retrieve the ball because his right leg had gone numb.
After a quick visit from the A’s training staff, Treinen was immediately removed from the game and was later diagnosed with a bruised right shin. But after resting on it for the night, Treinen arrived to the ballpark Wednesday afternoon free of any pain.
