TORONTO — The A’s blew a three-run lead in the 11th inning Sunday and lost 5-4 to the Toronto Blue Jays.
The A’s had taken a 4-1 lead in their half of the 11th, using three walks, two hits, a sacrifice fly and a hit batsman.
But Blake Treinen gave up a three-run homer to Brandon Drury and then allowed a single and a walk before Smoak singled home the winner.
The A’s (14-16) had a strong start from Chris Bassitt, who was making his second start of the season after going on the injured list in March with a lower leg contusion.
