OAKLAND — Baseball’s free agent market is moving at the slowest pace it’s ever been, a development which may allow the A’s to pounce on a player they may not have even planned on pursuing.
Much like the market last year, one in which the A’s benefitted from with the addition of Jonathan Lucroy one a cheap one-year deal during spring training, plenty of quality players remain without a team. The main positions — pitchers and catchers — two positions the A’s are actively looking to add depth in.
On the pitching side, the big name still unsigned is left-hander Dallas Keuchel, followed by quality arms like Gio Gonzalez, Clay Buchholz, and Wade Miley.
