After a heartbreaking loss yesterday ended a 3-3 road trip for the Oakland Athletics, the 69-68 Seattle Mariners come to town for a three-game series. Labor Day is the unofficial start to the stretch run and while there is little likelihood that the A’s will make a mad dash to the playoffs, the games will have meaning.
Mark Kotsay will send 28-year-old righty Osvaldo Bido to the mound tonight. Bido is 5-3 with a 3.11 ERA in fifty-six innings this season. This afternoon will mark his ninth start. He will go up against 27-year-old righty Logan Gilbert for Seattle.
