The St. Louis Cardinals visit the Oakland Athletics today at the Coliseum for the second game of the interleague three-game set. The A’s dropped the opener 3-1, with Ross Stripling falling to 0-4. The A’s hope that lefty JP Sears will keep the momentum going after a great win last Thursday against the reigning World Series Champion Texas Rangers. Sears tossed six + shutout innings in that matchup, his best outing of the young 2024 season. Sears will face 31-year-old Lance Lynn for the Cards. Lynn seems to have regained his form after a rocky 2023 season split between the White Sox and Dodgers.
