KANSAS CITY — The A’s beat the Kansas City Royals, 9-8, to claim a 3-1 series win on Thursday afternoon.
Chris Bassitt is expecting a child any day now, and should be leaving for paternity leave at some point.
He had time, though, to make his next start. Bassitt had his shortest outing of the second-half, lasting just 4.2 innings. He struck out just one batter with one walk.
The A’s offense broke it open on Jurickson Profar’s 17th home run, a two-run shot, untied the game and Marcus Semien recorded his 10th RBI of the series.
