OAKLAND — One night’s sleep didn’t do much to change the opinions of the A’s and Houston Astros about the sequence of events that led to Oakland tying the game in the ninth inning of the series opener between the two American League West rivals.
The A’s still thought Major League baseball replay officials made the correct call Friday night in ruling Ramon Laureano safe on a play at the plate — after he was called out — after a double by Nick Martini, tying the game 3-3 in the ninth inning. The Astros, though, haven’t seen any reason why the initial decision needed to be reversed.
