CHICAGO -Before Friday’s game, A’s manager Bob Melvin had a little chitchat with his team about their woeful road record.
Oakland then went out and beat the White Sox 3-0 behind a terrific performance by Jharel Cotton, but by the end of the game, both Cotton and utility player Chad Pinder had left with injuries. Cotton, who has a blister on his right thumb, is hopeful he will make his next start, but Pinder is expected to miss some time with a left hamstring strain - raising the strong possibility that the team will call up yet another top prospect, infielder Franklin Barreto.
