CLEVELAND — Mark Canha’s two-run pinch-hit home run and near-flawless relief pitching lifted the A’s to their fifth straight win, 5-3, over the Indians on Tuesday.
Canha pinch-hit for Khris Davis in the top of the fourth inning, and promptly hit an opposite field home run to right off Trevor Bauer. The homer, Canha’s sixth and the the third of his career as a pinch-hitter, scored Matt Olson, who had singled, and gave the A’s a 3-1 lead.
Davis, who injured his left hip on May 5 in Pittsburgh, grounded out in his lone at bat before being removed for what the A’s announced as the “lingering effects of the left hip contusion.
