CHICAGO — The A’s will have to wait a day to start their four-game series against the Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Thursday’s 5:10 p.m. PDT scheduled series opener was called off eight hours before the first pitch because of the likelihood of all-day rain.
Instead the teams will try to play a straight-up doubleheader, with the first game scheduled for 1:10 p.m. PDT. The second game would start at 5:10 p.m., or 30 minutes after the completion of the opener.
The bad news? Rain is also in Friday’s forecast.
